S. Meedhoo, in Seenu (Addu) Atoll, is one of the oldest inhabited islands in the Maldives, with settlement history dating back more than a thousand years. It is considered a cultural heart of Addu, with mosques and traditions reflecting its long history.
Fishing remains the primary livelihood, with tuna and reef fishing central to daily life. Farming also plays an important role, with bananas, taro, and coconuts widely grown in the fertile soil.
